I.Born in Brooklyn in 1859, Mr. Nesmith studied art at South Kensington, England, and under Leon Bonnat in Paris.Returning to the United States, he specialized in portraits and later aided in the founding of the Art Students League and the Academy of Design, where at various times his works were exhibited.He also exhibited at the Paris Salon.A portrait by Mr. Nesmith of his father, Henry E. Nesmith, hangs in the Historical Museum of New York.Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. banks, Mrs. Charles E. Knowles, Miss Edith Nesmith and Mrs. R. T. Pindale, and six grandchildren.”

Banks here. Born in Brooklyn in 18 (illegible) Mr Nesmith studied art at South Kensington, England and under Leon Bonnat in Paris.He exhibited at the Paris Salon.A portrait of his father, Henry E. Another reference card in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle morgue refers to an incident in 1915--"Tindale drowned; Nesmith rescued. The men were swimming in JamaicaBay and the former got cramps."
